Quartier Libre

Début des années 90, les Ardennes vibrent au son du ska-punk du groupe Engrenage où évoluent Dub et Jérôme. Kev1 et Mister Fab font partie de la raya de jeunes fans qui suit le groupe.
Milieu des années 90, Kev1 chante avec Happy Hours qui propagent leur punk-rock jusqu’en Angleterre ; Booz et Niko, adolescents, fondent Bad Taste et les suivent dans ce style.
Fin des années 90, Kev1 part au Kosovo, Mister Fab s’exile en Picardie où il organise des concerts et écrit dans Jump ! Dub et Jérôme quittent Engrenage, Bad Taste devient Skarat-B et ajoute des sonorités ska à son punk-rock.
2002 voit le retour de Kev1 et de Mister Fab dans les Ardennes au sein de Spunka (punk et ska) où ils côtoient des ex-Happy Hours et des ex-Engrenage (dont Dub). Les concerts (où ils croisent fréquemment Skarat-B) s’enchaînent et un album est enregistré dans la foulée.
Début 2004, à l’issue d’un concert houleux, Spunka et Skarat-B cessent leurs activités dans la douleur.
Déçu par cette triste fin, Mister Fab décide de monter un nouveau projet où il sera le leader. Kev1, Brice et Dub (Spunka) le suivent dans cette aventure, bientôt rejoints par Booz et Niko (Skarat-B), ainsi que par Jérôme pour donner naissance à Quartier Libre en mai 2004.
En trois ans, QL a assuré plus de quarante concerts en France (dont une sélection pour les Tremplins D.S.A.R. 2005 et 2007) mais également dans six pays européens avec des groupes tels que Les Wampas, The Hop La ! ou encore Deadline.
Après la sortie de l’album « L’Espoir fait vivre » en septembre 2006 sur le label Hyena Records, le groupe enchaîne les dates jusqu’en octobre 2007 lorsque plusieurs membres sont victimes d’un accident de voiture qui laisse le batteur sérieusement blessé au bras gauche. La décision est prise d’attendre le retour de Niko avant de reprendre la route en 2009.
Cette année le groupe s’est produit à une vingtaine de reprises en France, en Allemagne et en Suisse avant la sortie, en Novembre du deuxième album du groupe, intitulé « 69, 77, 84, … » sur le label allemand Randale Records, ainsi que du split vinyl 25cm « Yauque qui pèt’el fu ! ».
Le début d’année 2010 a vu la sortie du split EP avec Skarface et l’arrivée permanente de Iky (8°6 Crew) au clavier. Dans le même temps, Booz ayant décidé de prendre un peu de recul, il a été remplacé par Bib à la guitare. Avec cette formation, le groupe a enchaîné une quinzaine de dates sur des Festivals de plus en plus importants en France, mais également en Allemagne, en Pologne et en Russie avec Skarface, The Gonads ou Parabellum.
Avec le retour de Booz à la guitare,  le groupe a enchaîné une quinzaine de dates en France et en Belgique, ainsi qu’une tournée en Europe de l’Est.
En 2012 le groupe a joué un peu moins régulièrement sur scène mais a sorti chez Ronce Records son troisième album, un live intitulé "Live, Speed & Kalark".
En 2013 et en 2014, QL a repris la route, vers le sud de la France notamment, mais a également terminé l'enregistrement de son nouvel album.
2015 aura vu le groupe se produire sur les festivals de France, de Belgique et d'Italie, mais également la sortie de l'album "Un peu justes…" en format LP chez Ronce Records. Un album réédité fin 2016 en CD digipack après des dates en France et en Allemagne avec Booz à la guitare pour les toutes dernières fois avant son remplacement par Brice, guitariste d'origine de QL.

Radio Catoche

Radio Catoche es una banda banda que se origina en el año 2007 en la Ciudad de México. Dentro del ese gran espectro de lo que llamamos “Rock Latino”, nuestra propuesta se centró en la mezcla. Si bien, se nos asocia principalmente a los ritmos jamaiquinos del Ska y el Reggae, tenemos un rango bastante amplío, que abarca el bolero y el pop más despreocupado.

Hasta el momento hemos lanzado dos materiales discográficos:“Radio Catoche” (2008) y “Monstruo de Bares” (2013). Actualmente estamos en proceso de producción de nuestro tercer disco, del que, si todo sale bien, estaremos estrenando en próximas fechas un nuevo sencillo titulado "Me voy muy lejos". Tenemos prevista la distribucón del material completo en plataformas digitales y en formatos físicos para el segundo semestre de este año.

De nuestras participaciones más destacadas tenemos el Snickers Urbania 2009 y Snickers Urbania 2010 en el Estadio Azteca, Festival Música para los Dioses en Teotihuacán, la Feria de la Ciudad de México en el Palacio de los Deportes, I Love Ska Fest en Rosarito Baja California, Festival 20 años de Ska en Ciudad Deportiva, el Multiforo Alicia, Axotla Fest 2014, varias veces el Zócalo de la Ciudad de México y ciudades como Guadalajara, Monterrey, León, Oaxaca, Toluca, Tijuana, Michoacan,, etc.

En agenda para los proximos meses estaremos en la segunda edición de festival Pepsi Ska Fest, en la Ciudad de México el próximo 13 de agosto. Para nuestra felicidad, compartiremos escenario con The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Reel Big Fish, Estrambóticos y Save Ferris.

Real Sociedad

La Real Sociedad es una banda originaria de Atizapan Estado de México formada en 1999 impulsada por la oleada del SKA de aquella década.
Han alternado con bandas como Café Tacvba, Panteon Rococó, Salón Victoria, los de Abajo, Inspector, Victimas del dr Cerebro, Tijuana No, La Tremenda Korte, por mencionar algunas, tocado en escenarios como el Hard Rock Café, UVM Lomas Verdes, Biker Fest, Universidad Chapingo, Centro de Convenciones de Tlatelolco, etc.
En el 2002 salió su primer demo “Vamos a luchar” que fue grabado en vivo en Tepic Nayarit, en el 2005 grabaron un ep llamado Mundo muerto grabado en karma records, en el 2006 participaron en el acoplado skuela de baile 7 bajo el sello pp lobo records, después de un descanso regresan a finales del 2013 a los escenarios.

En 2014 comienzan la preproduccion del disco que lleva el mismo nombre de la banda "Real sociedad",se grabo en Decibel Zen estudio de grabacion a cargo de Francisco "shaman" en el disco Real sociedad, experimenta con nuevos sonidos y ritmos integrando en el fonograma acordion en el tema cuantos mas, flauta y percuciones, invitados especiales como Piochas del "parto de la chole" Moy de "Los hijos del muerto" Pecas "barbanegra", Alondra Montero "pajaro sauce", Charly Hernandez en percucion "Ganja" Cesar Hernandez voz "DANZ-K", Momo pacheco acordion"sultanes dezcalzos", Jose Hernandez percucion "Hitters Agogo y sabrofunks", Bodoke lira "La Tremenda Korte", Juan Peña flauta y sax "ensamble 69" el disco sale a la venta en plataformas digitales en noviembre del 2017

Rastreros

El fenómeno bravú que convulsionó la escena gallega a mediados de los 90 fue un movimiento heterogéneo con una serie de pautas comunes: la utilización de la lengua gallega, una acérrima reivindicación de las raíces, un nivel elevado de costumbrismo agrícola y rural, y sobre todo, muchas ganas de fiesta.
Los principales referentes fueron Os Diplomáticos de Monte-Alto, Yellow Pixoliñas y Heredeiros da Crus, pero por toda la geografía gallega surgieron bandas que se unieron al movimiento. En Chantada (Lugo) nos encontramos con Rastreros, prototipo de grupo bravú que se acercó al punk y al rock más gamberro gaita en mano.
Todo se remonta al año 89 cuando cuatro jóvenes procedentes de las aldeas de Viana, Esmoriz, Camporramiro y de Chantada, coinciden en el bar chantadino, Miño. Se produce la fusión de las formaciones La Paja Cubana y Rozando Nos Toxos (RNT) con Xesús López Exposito ‘Heléctrico’ (voz), Marcos Sánchez López ‘Killo’ (guitarra), Xulio López Viana ‘Xullo’ (bajo) y Xoán Camilo Gómez Hermida ‘Richi’ (batería).
Cuenta Xavier Valiño que el nombre salió de lo que les decía cuando los veía el Algarrobo, un sastre comunista de la zona: “Sodes uns rastreiros”. Utilizan como local de ensayo, una cuadra en la aldea de Quintá (Chantada). Parece ser que tras su primer ensayo, las vacas no dieron ni gota de leche.
Poco a poco se van haciendo un nombre en las frías tierras del Monte Faro, calentando el ambiente a base de muchas revoluciones y unas ganas de fiesta contagiosas de las que damos fe los que tuvimos la oportunidad de verlos en directo.
Pronto su sonido evoluciona desde el punk más clásico a una fusión bravú –rock, folk y esencia punk- a la que contribuye la entrada de Óscar Rodríguez a la gaita. Ellos definen su sonido como agropunk o punk de aldea. Hubo un primer gaiteiro, Moncho Faílde, que es quien pone las notas en “Vida de Xán”, pero está muy poco tiempo en el grupo ya que emigra a Francia.
Fieles al do it yourself en el 91 graban de forma precaria los once temas que componen la maqueta “Non lle Toque-lo Rabo á Vaca que Pensa Que é o Boi” y los cuatro cortes del EP “Perigo! Animais Ceibes” (Can, 1992).
No sería hasta el 96 cuando comienzan a tener un impacto importante en la escena gallega con su participación en el recopilatorio “Unión Bravú” (Edicións do Cumio, 1996) con el himno agrario “Tractorada” y musicando “Nitramón 15,15,15” con la ayuda de Rómulo Sanjurjo –Os Diplomáticos- al acordeón y los cantantes de los grupos participantes en los coros. Pero su mayor éxito llegaría con la inclusión en el Xabarín Club –programa infantil de la TVG- del videoclip de “O sacristán de Basán”. El corte también formaría parte del segundo recopilatorio del programa editado por BOA en el 95.
Edicións do Cumio se fija en ellos y les edita su único disco “A Piñón Fixo, A Golpe de Pixo” (Edicións do Cumio, 1996), catorce temas acelerados entre los que incluyen un corte en catalán “Aquesta terra” y uno en inglés “Hate song”. También colaboran en el recopilatorio en pro del asturiano “L'Asturianu Muévese” (Discos L'Aguañaz, 1997) con “La de la vaca” y tocan en el espectáculo popular “A Feria das Mentiras” organizado por Manu Chao en Santiago de Compostela.
A partir de aquí llega un silencio que se rompería con su participación en el homenaje a Os Diplomáticos de Monte-Alto -“120 Capadores” (Falcatruada, 2007)- con “Platinos” y en el Castañazo Rock de Chantada junto a Ruxe Ruxe y Zënzar entre otros.
Una actuación especial se produce en la décima edición del Castañazo Rock, año 2012. Un cartel de lujo con Os Diplomáticos de Monte-Alto, Os Papaqueixos, Cuchufellos e Liviao de Marrao. El 23 de febrero del 2013 anuncian en su cuenta de facebook que van a grabar nuevo material: “Por unha vez na vida, un dos rumores que anda circulando sobre nós é certo. IMOS GRAVAR NOVOS TEMAS!!! Comenzaremos o mes que ven e voltaremos, como non podía ser de outro xeito co gran Javier Abreu”.
El resultado es el single “O Xogo Democrático” (Autoproducido, 2013). Con los esquemas de siempre –punk rock acelerado, gaitas y guitarras eléctricas, letras en galego, costumbrismo y denuncia…- facturan dos nuevas canciones intensas. En la cara A “No meu país”, un tema de denuncia social que nace de los tiempos de crisis y de la desigualdad económica de estos violentos años 10, que dirían Ataque Escampe. En la cara B “A galiña dixo non”, su “Rebelión en la granja” (George Orwell, 1945) particular.

RedSka

RedSka is a combat ska-punk band born near Forlì-Cesena (Romagna,Italy) in 2001.
During fifteen years of activity, the band has developed his own antifascist and antiracism roots increasingly and
parallel to his own sound, going through political and social engagement, using music as vehicle for important
messages and ideas.
Since the beginning, RedSka started a strong activity of live, followed by first album “Mi son sbagliato nel
confondermi” (Sana Records/ Audioglobe), released in 2004.
The album, wich includes the partecipations of Enri (ex Vip 200 and then co-producer of following albums) and
Hormonauts, shows the “californian” side of ska-core of RedSka.
The cd obtains a great success and in 2007 it's reissued by One Step Records, a label born from a band's rib.
The release of the album is followed by a long tour wich prepares RedSka to the production of the second chapter
of their record history.
At the end of 2007, after their partecipation in celebration on 25 years of Ska in Italy, RedSka produce their
second album “Le mie prigioni”.
The album, caracterized by a cruder and ruder sound than previous but still varied and colorful in the
arrangements, sees the partecipations of Banda Bassotti, Matrioska, Good Fellas and Enrico, leader of Los
Fastidios, in the song “Rabbia e Libertà”.
This track will remain in the hearts of the fans of band thanks to her themes dedicated to antifascism, antiracism
and original skinhead culture.
In 2008, the album, co-produced by Atomic Studio, is released by One Step Records/ Maninalto!/ Venus in Italy
and by Mad Butcher Records in Germany and in the rest of Europe.
Thanks to this collaboration “Le mie prigioni” goes in Europe and gets the band into an exciting tour of 4 years.
During tour (divided in two parts: “Le mie prigioni Tour 2008-2009” and “Rabbia e Libertà Tour 2010-2011”) the
band runs trough Europe, playing in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia, Czech Republic and Italy, in
very important stages.
In 2011, year of the decennary of their history, RedSka return to the studio to work on the third official album, titled
“La Rivolta”, co-produced by Atomic Studio once again.
During the making of new album, two more records are released: “MSSNC”, new edition of the first album for the
german Mad Butcher Records, and the split-album with The Offenders “Rude League” (Mad Butcher Records/
Kob Records/ RedStar73 Records.
“Rude League” is released in Europe and is followed by a tour in Germany at the end of 2011 (“Rude League
Tour 2011”).
After the publication on web of two singles (the title-track “La Rivolta” and “Hooligan Rudeboys”), in 2012 the band
presents the new awaited album “La Rivolta”.
“La Rivolta” is an album in wich RedSka express perfectly all their own sonorous and communicative
potentialities.
A powerful and perfect groove of punk, ska, reggae, raggamuffin attacks listener and he is carried into an album
enriched by many collaborations (The Offenders, No Relax, Arpioni, Rude Hi-FI).
The release of album, published between January and February in Europe by One Step Records-Venus/ Mad
Butcher Records/ RedStar73 Records, is followed by a thick tour around the European continent.
In March 2013, RedSka releases the new EP "BELLA CIAO" (One Step Records/Mad Butcher Records), as 7”
vinyl.
The EP contains the ska-punk version of the famous folk song and also two unpublished songs.
During 2014 autumn, after a long promotional tour, RedSka releases the first live album “The Mighty Live” (One
Step Records, Good Fellas/Mad Butcher Records).
In this album, recorded on 11.07.2014 at “MIGHTY SOUNDS” Festival (Tabor, Czech Republic), the band
immortalizes in 10 live tracks his energy after hundreds of concerts around the Europe.
At the end of 2015, the band, announcing important line-up changes, is ready to celebrate their 15 years of
activity with European and Italian concerts and through the release of new songs.
The band releases during the 2016 spring the new EP “Red Spring” (Black Butcher Records/ Mad Butcher
Records), as 7” vinyl containing 3 new songs and starts a new European tour that will bring them to new album.

Red Five Point Star

Straight out of Slovenia, Red Five Point Star released their 3rd record "Worst Case Scenario" in 2011 on Megalith Records in USA and on Kapa Records in Europe. The band combines some of the best modern ska techniques, traditional rock 'n' roll, upbeat high octane punk rock and that full big band sound that can only be accomplished through 15 years of gigging constantly and combining all the musical tastes of each band member. After forming in 1998, the band quickly progressed from a simple punk-rock trio, to a very diverse and energetic 7 piece touring machine. The band toured all over Europe, South Africa and USA - opening up for The Toasters!
Red Five Point Star has been getting to know Robert Hingley of The Toasters really well in 2011 by becoming the 9 piece powerhouse "Toasters" backing band! "Buck" has been playing many festival shows and short European tours with Red Five Point Star as The Toasters band. So you know if Buck likes them enough to represent The Toasters, then they've got to be good!
In their latest release on Megalith Records, the band tackles politics from many fronts. From the artwork, to the album title and the choice of songs! The band even covers The Toasters long time fan favorite "Social Security". In Slovenia, the "Red Star" is respected as a symbol of resistance against fascism and nazism.

Reincidentes

Hubo un tiempo en que en los países de habla hispana, la música era un vehículo de la política, y la poesía y la protesta social eran una misma cosa. En España, desde mediados de los años setenta, esta combinación quedó relegada a los cantautores y desconectada de la evolución de la música electrificada, del pop y del rock de influencia europea.

En el rock duro español se consolidó desde luego una vena social, una épica y lírica de la conciencia juvenil, pero más de barrio que de clase, y por tanto a menudo desinteresada del compromiso político. Mientras tanto, en Europa, el punk abrió las puertas a una reidentificación radical entre rock & roll y política, con figuras emblemáticas como los Clash en Inglaterra y los Dead Kennedys en América. Pero aquí la recepción del punk fue minoritaria y segmentada: entonces ser un heavy era casi lo contrario social y culturalmente que ser un punky.

Consiguientemente, si en los años ochenta hubo una etiqueta nefasta fue la del "rock político", que arraigó sólo donde existía una conexión entre movimientos sociales y expresión juvenil radical, en la Euskadi del ska-hardcore de Kortatu y La Polla Records. En el resto del Estado, la ausencia de rock con conciencia era sintomática de la desmovilización juvenil lograda por la socialdemocracia.

Reincidentes son el primer y más acabado ejemplo de cómo este vacío ha podido ser satisfactoriamente superado desde comienzos de los años noventa, provocando un verdadero fenómeno sociológico sorprendente, una nueva audiencia emergente que demuestra hasta qué punto el rock & roll de vena comprometida era una asignatura pendiente en el panorama musical español.

Pero a finales de los años ochenta, cuando comenzaron su andadura, era difícil anticipar que una propuesta de estas características tenía futuro. De hecho, los Reincidentes tuvieron un primer paso en falso con Incidente local, un grupo que entre 1985 y 1986 dio algunos conciertos en su Sevilla natal sin mayor consecuencia.

En él estaba no obstante presente ya el núcleo de la futura banda: Juan R. Barea, entonces al bajo, Manuel Pizarro a la batería y Fernando Madina con las voces y la guitarra. Hizo falta que estos chavales de la adocenada y conformista Sevilla socialista decidieran "reincidir" y, sin sentir el vértigo de la cuerda floja, buscar el puente entre el punk y el rock duro, y entre el romanticismo urbano de barrio y la utopía de la comunidad política justa y participativa.

Para ello fue primero necesario que tuviera lugar en sus vidas una experiencia personal que les hizo salir de la disyuntiva entre quedar atrapados en la incomprensión o callar definitivamente: su participación en la huelga de estudiantes universitarios de 1987, que por un momento hizo protagonistas de su propia biografía colectiva a los jóvenes españoles, y alrededor de la cual tuvo lugar una primera reactivación de la cultura radical a escala nacional.

Los Reincidentes dieron de hecho un primer y mítico concierto en plena ocupación estudiantil de la Universidad de Sevilla, enchufando sus instrumentos delante del despacho del rector. Automáticamente, quedaron enganchados a una corriente subterránea que poco a poco comenzaba a extenderse cuestionando el consenso dominante desde la transición.

A pesar de que el futuro de la banda era completamente precario, los Reincidentes había hecho su reentrada en un ambiente de euforia colectiva y, sobre todo, se habían librado de la tutela psicológica institucional, habían roto amarras. Haciendo honor a sus raíces andaluzas, eran como jornaleros emancipados del señoritismo -que ahora se presenta en forma de moderación reformista-, cuya liberación ha desatado un potencial en bruto inagotable.

Esta energía sería su principal atributo en un ambiente en principio muy poco propicio para la difusión de su mensaje de rabia y reivindicación. Faltaba, sin duda, el aprendizaje imprescindible, pero las cosas estaban ahora claras, de forma que con trabajo y continuidad se lograría dar forma al ímpetu.

La suerte sonríe a los atrevidos. El primer golpe de fortuna del grupo fue el acceso al estudio de grabación de Juanjo Pizarro (ex "Dogo y los Mercenarios") hermano de Manuel y verdadera bestia de la música profesional española. Juanjo aceptó grabarles una maqueta con la que el grupo se presentó al primer Concurso de Rock de la Diputación de Sevilla, en 1989, una iniciativa electoralista de las autoridades andaluzas que los Reincidentes supieron aprovechar para su aprendizaje: finalistas del concurso, tocaron con La Frontera, subiendo por primera vez a un escenario grande y sintiendo la vibración del público masivo.

Ya entonces el grupo se consolida su nueva formación, con Fernando en el bajo y las voces y Juan en la guitarra, el primero a las letras y el segundo a las composiciones musicales, aunque ambas llevan siempre el sello de todos. En esas fechas entra en la banda también José Luis Nieto, "Selu", un saxo de toque muy personal que inspiraría esta primera etapa de la producción musical del grupo.

Reel Big Fish

1991–2001: Early success

The band formed in 1991 while the members were in high school. The group started as a cover band until they released a demo in 1992, titled In The Good Old Days.[citation needed] With the departure of Ben Guzman soon after, then backup vocalist Aaron Barrett took his place as lead singer. The band then changed its genre to ska.

Reel Big Fish's self-released debut album, Everything Sucks, was successful and became an underground hit spread by word-of-mouth, which led to the band signing a deal with Mojo Records. In August 1996, the band released the album Turn the Radio Off on the new label, which appealed to fans of ska punk style, and the band began touring throughout the United States. After the single "Sell Out" became well known in mainstream venues, including MTV, the album peaked at number 57 on the Billboard charts, staying on the charts for 32 weeks. However, the ska revival was short-lived, and the group's 1998 album Why Do They Rock So Hard? failed to match the sales of the band's previous record. In 1998, the band appeared in the movie BASEketball, performing in the stands to rouse the crowd. The band also appeared on the film's soundtrack with a cover of a-ha's "Take On Me". Why Do They Rock So Hard? was the last album for two members of the band. Trombonist Grant Barry was fired for his conduct, culminating with him committing battery on a security guard at Mississippi Nights during a concert in St. Louis and drummer Andrew Gonzales left the band to spend more time with his family.

2001–2006: Major label years

Trumpet player Tavis Werts left the band in 2001. The band fared much better on the rock charts in 2002 with the album, Cheer Up!, particularly because of the single "Where Have You Been?" which did not include the horn section. Former Suburban Rhythm drummer Carlos de la Garza and former Spring Heeled Jack U.S.A. trumpeter Tyler Jones, who tracked for two songs on Cheer Up! (because Werts had already recorded the majority of his trumpet parts before his departure), were brought in. De la Garza's last concert with Reel Big Fish was on June 20, 2003 at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California. That concert was later released as a DVD in The Show Must Go Off! series. Jones appeared in the music videos for "Where Have You Been?" and "Monkey Man" (although neither featured any trumpet-playing), and continued to play live in Reel Big Fish until early 2005. Jones was replaced by trumpeter John Christianson (nicknamed Johnny Christmas), who had previously played with Barrett in the band, The Forces of Evil.

On April 5, 2005, the band released its fourth album on Mojo, We're Not Happy 'Til You're Not Happy. Justin Ferreira (who replaced De La Garza) was on drums for the recording, but left before the album's release to join the Orange County band Takota and subsequently is listed as an additional musician on the CD. He was replaced by Ryland Steen.

Compared to the previous album (Cheer Up!), which was more lighthearted and cheerful, Allmusic describes the songs in We're Not Happy 'Til You're Not Happy as "angry" and "embittered", but also deemed the album as "super catchy". Common themes expressed throughout the songs include jealousy, regret, short-lasting fame, and disappointment toward mainstream record companies.

Aaron Barrett has stated that We're Not Happy 'Til You're Not Happy was "the third record in a trilogy" that began with Turn the Radio Off. "The first one was about being in a band and trying to make it. Then Why Do They Rock So Hard? was like, 'we've made it, we're rock stars'. Cheer Up we made because we had to make it. But We're Not Happy 'Til You're Not Happy is about us being old and jaded now."

2006–present: Independent work

While on tour in early 2006, Reel Big Fish were dropped from the Jive Records label. The band formed its own label and released a 3-disc live performance CD/DVD set, Our Live Album Is Better Than Your Live Album. This package became available on July 18, 2006 on the Internet and in retail stores on August 22. Jive later released a Reel Big Fish greatest hits album, Greatest Hit...And More.

On February 20, 2007, the band released Duet All Night Long, which is a split EP with Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer. It features six cover songs (three from each band), with the vocalist of each band performing in the other band's songs (except in the case of Scott Klopfenstein singing in the song, "Say Say Say".)

The band released its first studio album since leaving Jive Records; Monkeys for Nothin' and the Chimps For Free worldwide on July 10, 2007, on the Rock Ridge Music record label. On June 26, 2007, shortly before its release, the band announced in a Myspace blog that Matt Wong was leaving the band to spend more time with his wife and newborn child. He was replaced by Derek Gibbs who played bass in Jeffries Fan Club and Aaron Barrett's now defunct side project, The Forces Of Evil. Since Matt Wong was very popular with fans, some were skeptical of the new bassist's ability, but the band has stated that Derek is "Matt Wong Approved" and fans have nothing to worry about. Gibbs had been filling in for Wong on various tours since early 2002.

On December 19, 2007, the band announced that it would play the entire Warped Tour 2008.

Reel Big Fish released a new studio album on January 20, 2009. The name of the album is Fame, Fortune and Fornication, and it consists of 10 cover songs. Another album, A Best of Us for the Rest of Us, featuring a 22-track disc of re-recorded songs and a 14-track disc of "Skacoustic" versions produced by lead singer Aaron Barrett, was released on July 20, 2010. An extended version of the album, A Best of Us for the Rest of Us (Bigger Better Bonus Deluxe Version), was released on June 21, 2011. The group also intended to work on a new album, recording new songs in the fall of 2010. The band has also recorded a live DVD at The Grove in Anaheim, California, on January 4, 2009; which was released on July 21, 2009 with the title Reel Big Fish Live! In Concert! In an interview with 'The Examiner', Aaron Barrett stated that he planned on releasing a new album, with all new material, in late 2011.

On January 11, 2011, the band announced that longtime member Scott Klopfenstein would be leaving the band to focus on raising a family.Matt Appleton of Goldfinger began filling in for Scott on the band's 20th Anniversary Tour, and he has since been announced as a permanent replacement. This marks the first time since 1995 that the band has had a saxophone player.

In March 2012, Reel Big Fish announced via Facebook that the group had begun recording a new album of new, original songs. The album is titled Candy Coated Fury, though the band also considered Honk If You're Horny as a title. The album was released on July 31, 2012.

On October 21, 2013 the band announced via its website that long-time trombonist Dan Regan, who has played with Reel Big Fish since 1994, will depart from the band to spend more time with his family and follow his dream of starting a brewery.

Reel Big Fish announced a co-headline UK and Ireland tour with Less than Jake with support from Zebrahead in early 2014.

In November 2014, Reel Big Fish announced on Facebook that the group would release an EP titled Happy Skalidays scheduling release in December 15, 2014.

In February 2015, the band announced through its website that drummer Ryland Steen is on hiatus from the band to play drums in America. Since the summer of 2014, Edward Larsen of Suburban Legends has been filling in.

In an August 2018 interview with SoundlinkTV, John Christianson hinted that a new album would be releasing in the fall of 2018, supposedly titled Life Sucks, Let's Dance.


On October 9, 2018, through their Instagram page, the band announced a new single called "You Can't Have All of Me", released on October 12. They also confirmed the title for the new album to be Life Sucks...Let's Dance! and a December release.
